A few years after World War II, due to the need for hollow sections in the construction industry and the significant progress of the welding industry, profiles entered the steel industry.
This industry first started in Germany and quickly gained its place in the industry, and in Iran due to the increase in population and the need to build houses with global standards, wood gradually took its place due to the lack of resources. He gave iron and aluminum.
Types of profiles
In the word profile, it means a fixed cross-section and a long length, and in the steel industry, it is called hollow sections. In general, there are two types of profiles, industrial and construction.
Construction profile
It is called a group of products that are used in the construction industry and its uses include doors and windows, etc. which have several types:
Hot-rolled profile: This profile is made of hot-rolled steel ingots and is shaped like a can.
Cold rolled profile: this type is made by bending and shaping steel sheets, which are suitable for light construction works, including door frame profiles, studs, etc.
Composite profile: This type is produced by combining and joining two cold-rolled and hot-rolled profiles.
Industrial profile
Industrial profile is a product that is used in industry and is made of steel sheet.
This profile is divided into two categories, light and heavy. This category of products is of particular importance due to the mechanical and electrical properties they use, and it has more resistance and strength than construction profiles.
Profile creation history
Composite profile: According to the weather conditions of our country and the phenomenon of corrosion of structures in the construction and bridge building industry, this type of profile is used for more durability and increasing the life of the structure. Also, its elasticity increases resistance to vibrations and is resistant to earthquakes
Galvanized profile :(UVPC)
UPVC profile is a profile that is used in different stages for the production and construction of double-glazed doors and windows.
Galvanized profiles have different types according to the type of use and place of use. Including :
Frame profile
Middle profile or mullion
Sash or open profile
Panel profile
Zahwarah’s profile
Pipe profile and pipe fittings profile
UPVC profile standards
This type of profile has two main standards. The British standard, which is a European standard, is known as BS EN 12608. The German standard is RAL GZ 716-1.
These standards examine uPVC profiles from different aspects, one of the most important points is the thickness of the main walls and side walls.
In both of these standards, a thickness higher than 2.8 mm in the main wall and a thickness higher than 2.5 mm in the side wall are considered as type A or class one profiles.
Thicknesses higher than 2.5 mm in the main wall and higher than 2 mm in the side wall are also considered as type B or class two profiles.
Iran’s Construction and Housing Research Center, as the trustee of the national standard for construction equipment and materials, has conducted extensive research and studies in this field and has selected and translated the BS EN 12608 standard as the appropriate standard.
In terms of appearance, the profile is divided into two categories: open and closed:
Profile of open sections
The profile of open sections is made in different dimensions and thickness. Beams, belts, rebars, studs, corners, quadrilaterals, hashes, etc., are known by this name because of their appearance.
The types of profiles in this category are reviewed below.
z profile: 2.5 cm and 3 cm thick profile is produced and its uses are the roof of large halls, sheds, warehouses and parking lots. The price of the profile can be changed according to the thickness of the product.
U profile: It is called a profile with a U-shaped cross-section
Hat profile: The hat profile is available in open and shield models.
Closed profile
Cans, pipes, door and window profiles, UPVC profiles, electric shutter door profiles, Hss, etc. are all types of closed profiles.
HSS stands for Hollow structural section. These sections are produced by two traditional and industrial methods and by cold rolling. These sections are resistant to earthquakes and the uses of this product are as follows:
Building bridges
Stadiums
Metal framework of buildings
Making iron doors and windows
The automotive industry
Heavy construction profile
The first profile producer in Iran is Sepenta Industrial Company, which started its activity in 1340, and the first and oldest profile producer in East Azarbaijan province is Jahan Iron and Steel Company.
Jahan Iron and Steel Company, which was established in 1336 with a workshop for the manufacture of metal frames for doors and windows under the efforts of “Ahmed Ali Hemtian”, with the passage of time and equipping the company with modern technology, was able to transform the door and Iron windows to upvc, as well as the need for galvanized reinforcing profiles, lead the majority of their activity in this direction.
In 1380, he started the activity in the field of manufacturing galvanized reinforcing profiles according to the country’s needs with two production lines.
With the beginning of the official activity of the complex in 2012 under the title of “World Iron and Steel Company”, sliding lines along with steel structure construction equipment were added to the complex.
The company is currently active in two sectors of steel structures and galvanized profiles, and in both sectors based on its capabilities, it has drawn clear horizons for progress.
The first and largest manufacturer and exporter of galvanized sections in the country
At the beginning of 1990, with the support of domestic producers of upvc doors and windows; Reinforcement profiles production lines from scratch
